A NEW CHAPTER of excitement awaits children at Dandenong and Springvale libraries from next week.
Children’s Book Week kicks off on Monday, 21 August at Springvale Library with performances by storyteller Matteo and Knockabout Theatre with Mixed Lollies.
Dandenong Library will host storyteller Andy Wright on Tuesday, 22 August for a pyjama story time starting at 6.30pm.
The spine-tingling horror stories will be best suited to those aged 13 to 17.
Next month as part of National Literacy and Numeracy Week, Greater Dandenong schools, libraries, preschools and playgroups will take part in a country-wide simultaneous reading of Andrew Daddo’s book Good Night, Me.
The book was chosen by the Australian Library and Information Association to highlight Australia’s book industry and the role of libraries in developing children’s literacy skills.
