WITH the opening of John Brogan’s new skating centre at 41, Princes Highway, Dandenong, people are flocking to the full international-size rink in droves.
The City of Greater Dandenong has supplied funding of $1000 and in conjunction with the Inline Skating administrators, Skate Victoria, John is holding an ‘are you game to come and try?’ day at the rink this Friday, 24 March.
From 10am to 4pm, the day promises to be fun-packed from start to finish.
There will be Inline Hockey demonstrations at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm, so people are invited to bring their skates, or use the rink’s skates and jump on afterwards to test their skills.
Artistic skater, Kristen Slade, currently ranked third in the world, will perform at 2pm and following in the slipstream of the speed skaters, currently skating for Australia at the Commonwealth Games, people can clock their own personal best.
The open day promises to be fun for all, with free show bags, ‘learn-to-skate’ passes and information available for all forms of skating.
