ACCLAIMED theatre group Bell Shakespeare made its first visit to the Drum Theatre on Tuesday.
Sheakespearean comedy The Merchant of Venice was the company’s first performance at the new theatre, and the setting could not have been better.
Effective smoke, clever lighting and good acoustics made the play easy to consume for the 250 people who packed the theatre’s lower section.
It was the only performance of the popular comedy Bell has scheduled this year.
