PARKMORE Football Club won its 51st premiership flag on the weekend when its under 10 side defeated Cranbourne by 10 points in the Dandenong District Junior Football League (DDJFL) grand final.
“We believe this is a world record number of premierships wins,” Pirates football manager Mike Smyth said.
Young Pirate Jack Wheeler was best on ground in the grand final and also won the DDJFL under 10 best and fairest medal.
Wheeler will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of former Parkmore stars David Neitz, Darren Millane and Jayson Daniels, who are just three of the 11 Pirates who went on to play in the Australian Football League.
