COURAGE, determination and a little help from the Dandenong Rangers have sixyearold Sabi Mashid bouncing along the road to recovery.
Sabi lost his lower right leg when 32yearold Doveton man Taban Gany drove through a wall at his Dandenong West Primary School in May.
He has been confined to a wheelchair until recently when he was fitted with a new artificial leg.
Sporting his new leg, Sabi was the star during halftime of the Rangers first Women’s National Basketball League match when he was presented with a Rangers basketball and two season tickets in recognition of his brave journey from the hospital back into the classroom.
Rangers game announcer Peter Pizarcoff made the presentation to Sabi, who was accompanied by his brother Fasi Mashid.
Sabi and his family, including mum, Farida, scored courtside seats for the Rangers grand final rematch against the Flames, which the Rangers won 7264.
