TROUBLE between Corrie Wilson and the Doveton Eagles has erupted with the star midfielder applying for an immediate transfer to Ellinbank and District Football League club Nyora.
Wilson did not play for the Eagles in their Southern Football League division three clash against Skye in round one and off-field tensions between the club and Wilson have since boiled over.
Club president Craig Price said Wilson had not followed through on any of his preseason promises.
“He was supposed to be captain this season and take some training sessions, but has not done any of that,” Price said.
“Our coach Paul Davis basically told him to get on his bike.”
Wilson had been linked to the Nyora Football Club preseason, but returned to training at Doveton earlier this year.
The news is not good for the Doveton Eagles, who have retained only eight of last year’s senior players.
But Price said the Eagles would continue to battle on.
“Hopefully we can win a couple of games and attract some players down to training,” he said.
