WORKERS at a Braeside printing company were treated for smoke inhalation after attempting to extinguish a blaze that erupted in a printing press valued at $1.6 million.
Firefighters from Springvale were called to the fire at Colorpak Packaging in Woodlands Drive, Braeside, at approximately 3.30pm last Sunday, 19 March.
They were able to contain the fire to the one printing machine, valued at about $1.6 million.
Employees who attempted to extinguish the blaze when it first broke out required medical assistance from paramedics, who treated several employees for smoke inhalation.
According to firefighters at the scene, the building suffered minor damage.
Multiple positive pressure fans were used to clear the warehouse of smoke and toxic fumes.
CFA officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
