THE students at Lyndale Primary School have been playing mind games recently.
For six weeks, hard-working grade five and six children at Lyndale prepared to compete in last weekend’s Tournament of Minds competition at Swinburne University.
The competition involves schools from around the state, with students attempting to solve problems in a number of areas ranging from mathematics to language and literature.
The solutions are mostly presented in a series of plays.
Lyndale principal Ruth Knight said the school fielded teams in the mathematics and engineering division, the language and literature division and the social studies division.
The students performed plays with a variety of themes including bringing Greek drama to life, celebrating the antics of soccer players, cricketers and athletes, and even the making and breaking of treaties.
She said students performed before an audience of judges, parents and teachers.
