Clip and snip appeal

A CHANCE to get creative for a good cause is being offered at Springvale City Hall.
Crop For Kids is an opportunity for people of all ages and experience to spend a day scrapbooking while raising money for the Good Friday Appeal.
The day will include plenty of scrapbooking fun, as well a raffle, goodie bags, lucky envelopes, games, food and the opportunity to shop for supplies.
Event co-ordinator Jess Lothian said the event had a great atmosphere.
“More than 100 women who are very passionate about the same hobby, all in one room makes for a big party,” she said.
Mrs Lothian once owned a business selling scrapbooking supplies and started the initiative when she wanted to give something back to the community.
“A lot of scrapbookers are mothers and would sadly need the assistance of Royal Children’s Hospital at some stage.
“I thought that raising money for this cause would hit close to the heart,” she said.
In the two years it has been running, Crop For Kids has raised more than $19,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The event will be on Saturday 4 April between 10am and 5pm, at Springvale City Hall.
Tickets cost $30 which includes entry and a goodie bag.
Participants must bring their own supplies.
