Low-income earner loans

LOW-INCOME residents of Springvale and surrounding areas now have access to interest-free loans, thanks to the Victorian Government.
Community Development Minister Peter Batchelor visited the Springvale Community Aid and Advice Bureau (SCAAB) on Monday to launch a branch of the No Interest Loan Scheme, which provides interest-free loans to low-income earners.
“The Government is taking action to reduce disadvantage by funding initiatives like the No Interest Loan Scheme,” Mr Batchelor said. “Run by Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service, the No Interest Loan Scheme provides a fair and safe credit option for people who may have trouble accessing credit because of low income or a poor credit rating.”
