A DANDENONG North man was assaulted on a bus travelling from Dandenong Station on Saturday night.
He was approached by a group of men on the bus who demanded he hand over his mobile phone and was punched in the face once he did so.
The men are described as being of Turkish or Albanian descent.
One was described as short with a thin build, with black hair and a long fringe.
