Global market for Dandy firm

ADVANCED Polymer Technology Australasia (APTA) is a global leader in polyurethane technology manufacturing.
It began in the late ’80s and started operating in Australia when several manufacturers were bought by the German parent and amalgamated.
In the ’90s, the company became owned by its current American parent, and in 2001, the business moved its premises to Dandenong South.
The Dandenong company services the whole of the Asia Pacific region and turns over tens of millions of dollars.
APTA creates a variety of products for a number of sporting surfaces and has licence agreements with many leading sporting associations including FIFA (soccer), FIH (hockey), ITF (tennis) and the AFL and Cricket Australia.
APTA sees huge opportunity in community fields being artificial grass given the potential water savings as well as maintenance and general wear and tear.
The company supplied fields for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, 2009 Champions Trophy, Beijing 2008 Olympics, 2006 Asian Games, 2006 Commonwealth Games, 2004 Champions Trophy, Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and 2000 World Cup and has its eyes set on the London Olympics.
The company is a worthy nominee in the areas of Manufacturing, Innovation, Service Excellence and the Premier Regional Business Award for 2009.
