ANDREW Simmons has been appointed as the new executive officer of the South East Local Learning and Employment Network (SELLEN).
SELLEN chairman Stephen Dunn said Mr Simmons will have much to contribute to SELLEN and the greater SELLEN community in the south-east.
“Andrew comes from a background in primary school teaching and was principal of a school in the Northern Territory working with the indigenous community,” Mr Dunn said.
“Andrew moved on from there working in private RTOs (registered training organisation) including an English Language School, CEO of Headmasters and, more recently, as a senior manager responsible for 200 staff in a large private RTO delivering courses throughout Australia and overseas.”
Mr Dunn said Mr Simmons’s desire to further his career at SELLEN stemmed from a strong interest in local community development, working with youth and being around for his young family.
