Big night for juniors

THE Dandenong and District Junior Football League held its best-and-fairest evening last week.
The league split the presentations over two evenings with each age group being allocated 45 minutes for their presentations.
Last Wednesday at Berwick’s Monash University, under-10s to under-13s were presented their best-and-fairest awards, and on the Friday (3 September) at the Sandown racecourse the under-14s to under-16s had their awards presented at a sit-down meal.
Of the awards Tooradin-Dalmore won best conducted club, which was presented to them based on all of their teams’ conduct during games, behaviour from supporters and the team’s dress attire throughout the year.
In the Youth Girls best-and-fairest, Noble Park’s Georgia Punton took out the prize while Corie Intveen (Narre Warren) and Ryan Morrison (Berwick) shared the under-16s (division one) award. Jack McHale from Beaconsfield won the Lindsay Patching medal with 37 votes, the most votes awarded by umpires.
Richard Robertson from Berwick Junior football club (JFC) won the junior coach of the year and Colin Dell also from Berwick JFC won the youth coach of the year.
