VICTORIAN journeyman John Wade claimed another pro-am title last week, edging out the evergreen Mike Harwood and local favourite Cameron Percy by a single shot to win the $15,000 Keysborough Golf Club Pro-Am.
Wade shot a five-under 68 around the Keysborough layout last Thursday (20 January) to scoop the $2700 winner’s cheque on a day when just seven players carded under-par scores.
The pro-am circuit regular, who also plied his trade on the European tour during the 1990s, headed up a field of 52 pros who teed it up in the popular event.
The professional contingent was slightly weakened this year due to a clash with the first round of the inaugural Surf Coast Knockout event at The Sands Torquay, which attracted many of the high-profile Australian tour players.
