HUGE crowds flocked to Springvale CBD on Sunday in scorching heat for the 2011 Springvale Lunar New Year Festival, organised by the Springvale Asian Business Association (SABA).
More than 60,000 people were treated to a range of musical performances, cultural dancing, various Asian cuisines and a fireworks presentation to help welcome in the Year of the Rabbit.
The event also raised $12,000 for the flood appeal, through the purchases of rice packs donated by Nan Yang Supermarket, tin collection and a large donation from SABA founding president Hoang Tran.
