Dryden’s done it

By Nicole Williams
A DANDENONG man went all the way for the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave on Thursday 10 March.
Southern Health Aboriginal Drug and Alcohol Outreach Worker David Dryden shaved his head in support of all people who have suffered from cancer and in memory of his mentor, Lester Green who passed away this year.
“I wanted to play my part in raising awareness and money to combat the terrible diseases people suffer from in their lives,” Mr Dryden said.
“I felt very honoured to take part in it and promote a change.”
He raised $700 and was grateful to anyone who donated to the cause.
“Some people put in $50 and some put in $5, whatever they could spare,” he said.
“Just the well-wishes from some people was good enough.”
Mr Dryden said he was pleased with his new short locks and may keep the hairstyle.
“I might keep it like this for a little while,” he said.
Although he said his wife is not completely happy with the change.
