NOBLE Park CFA is calling on community-minded people to join their team.
The 80-year-old brigade is undertaking their annual recruitment drive and hopes to welcome people of all ages and abilities.
“We’re after absolutely anybody from the community – anybody who wants to be part of a fire brigade,” Noble Park firefighter Brad Harris said.
“The brigade is actively calling on residents to be a part of a dynamic team and to help their local community.”
Mr Harris said the 40-strong brigade had volunteers of all ages and all sorts of nationalities because it was located in a multicultural area.
The only condition of volunteering is that people are community-minded and are over 17-years-old.
“Being a CFA volunteer is a great way to involve the whole family in community service,” he said.
Ms Harris said volunteers would have a sense of achievement, excitement as well as social interaction and camaraderie.
People can volunteer to become an operational fire-fighter or to assist with the non-operational side like administration and fundraising for the brigade.
“The brigade is not only looking to recruit new members to fight fires as operational members, but also those to assist with community education programs, promotions, displays, fundraising and administrative activities which are non-operational,” Mr Harris said.
All CFA volunteers receive nationally accredited training.
