THE Inaugural Volunteer Recognition Awards 2011 were awarded last Thursday 12 May, celebrating Great
Twenty-six agencies were recognised for the valuable contribution they made – and are making – to volunteering in the municipality.
Among those recognised for their hard work were Cornerstone Contact Centre and senior citizens clubs.
The City of Greater Dandenong and the Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Group hosted the ceremony at the Springvale Town Hall.
The awards ceremony coincided with National Volunteers Week, the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia, which ran from 9 May to 15 May.
