COMMUNICATION and motivation were the key words at South East Business Networks (SEBN) Women in Business networking meeting last week.
Fifty-five local businesswomen met on Thursday 19 May to hear guest speaker Dr Vesna Grubacevic discuss how to effectively communicate and motivate different personalities.
Dr Grubacevic said the key was to understand the preferences of your customers.“Understand how they tick and work out how best to communicate,” she said.
Dr Grubacevic said language was important for effective communication and motivation. There are four learning preferences and the key is to tap into the language to be able to get through effectively.
Dr Grubacevic said the four preferences were visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and auditory digital – and 80 per cent of people have visual or kinaesthetic preferences. “If you only use your style (to reach people) then you miss the rest of the population,” she said. “It’s very simple if you know what to look for and how to use it.”
Dr Grubacevic said these skills could be used in all aspects of life, not just business.
