A WOMAN has told police she was kidnapped and raped over three days during which she was driven from her Dandenong home in the boot of her car to Young in New South Wales.
Police said that on Saturday and Sunday the 30-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in her home by a man police believe she knew before the attack.
Detectives allege she was sexually assaulted over the two days and bound and gagged before being forcing into the boot of her Hyundai. He drove the woman more than 600 kilometres to Young in New South Wales, they said.
They say that at 5am on Monday he took her to an orchard and sexually assaulted her again before forcing her back into the boot and driving to a motel in the regional town.
Police said the woman was tied up and sexually assaulted again at the motel before being bound, gagged and forced into a cupboard in a motel room.
The man fled the scene a short time later in the woman’s car.
They said they later responded to a car accident at Lithgow, a further 240 kilometres north, at 5.50pm which involved the alleged attacker. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
The woman managed to escape from the motel about 6pm and reported the incident to motel staff.
Strike Force Kinnane, which includes detectives from NSW’s State Crime Command’s Sex Crime Squad with assistance from Cootamundra Local Area Command and Victoria Police, has been established and will investigate further.
On Tuesday a man was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of aggravated kidnapping. He was under police guard at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital yesterday and is due to appear at Parramatta Court today (Thursday).
