BUCKLEY Ridges asserted their position as reigning Twenty20 champion on Tuesday night as they cheaply bowled out Narre Warren.
The Ridges dismissed Narre Warren for 88 off 15 overs, with the main damage coming from Craig Batchelor (4/24) and Wes Nicholas (3/11).
In reply the Ridges waltzed home without too much trouble, as Batchlor (29) and Jono Devine (52 not out) took 10.2 overs to catch the Magpies’ total.
Not even the inclusion of Dandenong Panthers opener Tom Donnell could help Springvale South over the line against Parkfield.
The Bears restricted the Bloods to 7/117cc with Steve Spoljaric and Hemantha Alles taking the wickets in the short form to back up their efforts from Saturday.
Springvale South’s best batsmen were Steven Hennessey (35) and Craig Slocombe (33), who came in later down the order.
Parkfield made the runs easily off 14.5 overs, with Dale Harris striking 51 not out, well supported by Jono Hare (34) and Spoljaric (29).
Doveton posted the biggest score of the round against Fountain Gate, hitting 7/161cc, with the last pair of Nick Fairbank (33 not out) and Shane White (22 not out) boosting the run rate at the end. In reply, Fountain Gate could not catch the Doves as they batted out the overs to make 7/104, with Gary Burniston top scoring on 25.
