A MAN is lucky to be alive after his neighbour alerted him to his house being on fire on Saturday night.
The double-storey Sydney Parkinson Avenue home was well alight when fire crews arrived on scene. They were happy to hear the next door neighbour had alerted the sole male occupant when he saw smoke after he went outside.
CFA crews from Hallam, Narre Warren North and Dandenong attended the call and had it under control within 30 minutes.
Dandenong’s aerial appliance (Ladder Platform) was called in to assist with accessing the upper storey after the fire spread through the wall cavities.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
