YOUTH could be the ticket at this year’s City of Greater Dandenong council elections.
Six candidates are aged 25years of age or under and are hoping they can give some fresh life to the council.
The youngest candidate Victor Victor, will be 19 and the city’s youngest councillor if he is elected.
In recent years Clare O’Neill was only 23 when she was mayor – making her the youngest mayor in the history of Greater Dandenong.
If voted in, it would make him the council’s youngest councillor if he is elected.
Mr Victor was council’s young achiever of the year in 2012.
Zaynoun Melhem was born in Dandenong Hospital and has lived in the City his whole life. His focus will be on keeping the streets safe and value for money in terms of rates.
Dalibor Saula has lived in Greater Dandenong for over 13 years and his focus will be education, believing more needed to be spent to ensure education becomes the forefront of the city.
Trang Tran moved to the city when she was just three years old. She wants to protect the rights of people living in the area she grew up in.
Natalia Supel has lived in the city since she was a little girl and will focus her attention on youth centres and support.
Only time will tell the result, but the fresh faces all hope to bring something new to the table if elected.
