A ROUTINE police intercept uncovered two bombs in Springvale South with the potential to cause life-threatening injuries.
About 2am, police stopped a car on the Dandenong Bypass and found a small amount of the drug ‘ice’ in the vehicle.
Police executing a subsequent search warrant in Springvale South found two homemade bombs in the driver’s home, as well as cannabis, ice and money.
The Victoria Police Bomb Response Unit attended and detonated the devices in the premise’s rear yard.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Alistair Boyd said one bomb contained nails and had the potential to cause serious or life-threatening injury, and the other produced a large amount of smoke.
He said police arrested, interviewed and remanded a 31-year-old Springvale South man over the incident.
