Police break up party fisticuffs

IT took 20 police plus three police dogs to break up an out-of-control party in Noble Park on Saturday night.
Police attended a Corrigan Road home about 11.15pm on 11 May, following several calls about loud music and people fighting.
Several brawls erupted as police arrived and officers used capsicum spray to try to subdue the 150-plus party-goers.
More police resources, including three canine units were called to the scene and it took about 45 minutes to break up fights and disperse the crowd.
Several people were arrested for public drunkenness and issued penalty notices for failing to move on.
Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said there were no injuries to police during the incident and no party-goers required hospital treatment.
He said police recommend registering parties and ensuring appropriate security was in place for large gatherings.
Act Det Sgt Kirton said there was no indication Saturday’s incident was the result of gate crashers.
“It just got out of hand,” he said.
