ROTARY Club of Dandenong South East has raised more than $3000 for brain cancer research to honour a former member.
The club held the first John Feldman Golf Classic on 6 December at Cranbourne Golf Course, named for their peer who died from a brain tumour several years ago.
The $3200 raised will go to the Royal Melbourne Hospital Neuroscience Foundation.
Almost 40 players battled it out in a tribute to the former Doveton lawyer, with winner Paul Grove accepting the trophy from widow, Lee Feldman.
Adam Feldman spoke to the participants about his father’s love of golf and his involvement with the competition’s organiser, the Rotary Club of Dandenong South East.
Club president and local real estate agent Peter Curtis said he hoped to see this become an annual event and thanked major sponsor John Sculac from Dandy Truck Sales and Yugo Driving School.
