Mature artists

Aged-care residents in Doveton have moulded a series of ceramic works for their first group art exhibition.
Under the sure tutelage of professional artist Olga Maxwell, the Chestnut Gardens residents have pottered with clay on a monthly basis.
This month, they publicly displayed their colourful works.
Chestnut Gardens staff member Ashwin Lennox said the classes had been therapeutic as well as producing handy everyday items like jewellery bowls.
“The residents enjoy making different shapes by hand. They apply the paint colours as they come to mind.
“It took a little time to get everyone going but once they were it was a blast and everyone got involved.”
