A MAN’S calls for help lured a Dandenong man into an armed robbery late last month.
Police have now released images of a man and woman they want to speak to about the incident.
The 25-year-old victim was walking along Mason Street, Dandenong, from Dandenong Railway Station, about 12.30am on 20 January when he heard the cries for assistance.
But when he found the man who was the source of the calls in a vacant block, a woman walked behind him and pushed him to the ground.
Police said the man then tried to grab the victim’s bag, during a struggle punched him several times in the head and threatened him with a bottle.
The victim let go of his bag and his attackers fled the scene in a vehicle.
Greater Dandenong CIU Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said incidents like this were “pretty rare”.
“It’s clearly an orchestrated scenario,” he said.
The man is described as aged between 35 and 40, about 193 centimetres tall and well-built with short, brown hair.
The woman is described as aged between 40 and 50 years of age and about 165cm tall with shoulder-length brown hair.
