JOANNA Palatsides will contest the seat of Dandenong for the Liberal Party at November’s State Election.
Ms Palatsides lives in Endeavour Hills with her husband Themy and son Nikolaous.
“I’ve been actively involved in the local community for 18 years, including acting as a voluntary Justice of the Peace at Dandenong Police Station, a community guardian for young people who need a state-appointed guardian, and as a committee or office-bearer for a number of local organisations,” she said.
“Through my extensive community work, I see every day how government decisions impact local residents.
“I decided it was time to fight for the people of Dandenong and show the locals that there is a better alternative.
“I look forward to meeting with local residents over the coming months and speaking to them about how we can build a better Dandenong.”
Gabrielle Williams announced in February that she would vie to keep Dandenong in ALP hands, with current Labor MP John Pandazopoulos to step down after almost 22 years.
The Victorian State Election will take place on 29 November.
