Kids hand it to their kinder

SANDOWN Park Kindergarten in Springvale is turning 50.
It will celebrate with a party for current and former kids, parents and staff from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday 18 December.
Organiser Lucy Farmer said there’d be cake, party games and old photos.
“We’re trying to see if there are any old staff members or pupils or parents who want to come along and say hello and mark the occasion,” she said.
“I think it would just be really interesting to hear their stories and where they’re at now, what they think of the kinder – has it changed?”
More than 40 four-year-olds and about 18 three-year-olds attend the Gove Street centre.
Ms Farmer’s third child is about to finish their time there, ending her six-year association.
“I like the location of it and the staff are just fantastic, they’re just so welcoming,” she said.
“They embrace the family, not just the single child that goes there. They know the kids so well.”
