POLICE have charged five boys from the western suburbs following a series of armed robberies committed between 2 and 28 April.
A 16-year-old boy and four 17-year-old boys were collectively charged with 40 armed robbery offences and are set to appear at a children’s court.
Four other boys were arrested but released without charge. The investigation continues.
EARLIER
POLICE have arrested nine teenagers over a spate of armed robberies in several suburbs, including Noble Park.
Armed Crime Squad members joined Embona Taskforce detectives from Altona North, Fawkner and Brimbank to arrest the teens in Sunshine on Wednesday.
Four men have been released and the other five continue to be interviewed over the robberies, which occurred last month.
The investigation is continuing.
