Honour for pillars of harmony

Greater Dandenong contributors to multiculturalism were recognised with Diversity Week awards.
Isaacs MP Mark Dreyfus handed out the annual certificates on Thursday 16 March.
Springvale Asian Business Association (SABA) president Daniel Cheng was among the recipients.
He arrived in Australia in 1986 and is also involved in the real estate industry.
Jia Zhong Pan migrated to Australia in 1985 and is the vice- president of Noble Park Community Centre-based Xinjiang Chinese Association, and founder of the Xinjiang Cultural Dancing Troupe.
For the past 17 years, Jack Ma has been the president of the Teo Chew Association, incorporating the Xie Tian Temple, in Newcomen Road, Springvale.
The Teo Chew Assocation is very active and recently fund-raised $60,000 for the Monash Children’s Hospital.
Ludmila Karganova migrated to Australia in 1985 and is the South East Region Chinese Friendship Group vice-president and a City of Greater Dandenong volunteer.
She served as a council ambassador in 2006.
Noble Park resident Ngai Chung Cheng presented 3ZZZ Melbourne Ethnic Public Radio from 1992 to 2005 and was the Asian TV president from 1993 until this year.
Zoya Tuo, who migrated to Australia in 1985, is involved in Xinjiang Chinese Association in Noble Park and an active translator for the Chinese and Russian communities.
“I congratulate all of these winners and thank them for their ongoing work in making our great community even better,” Mr Dreyfus said.
