Police are urging a witness to a Dandenong assault to come forward.
They believe the victim, 32, left a venue on Lonsdale Street about 1am on Saturday 29 April and was assaulted as he walked home.
He suffered serious injuries.
Investigators have released an image of a woman who they believe left the venue with the victim and saw the assault.
They are encouraging her to come forward.
