Colourful cubes and uplifting words are brightening people’s days in Dandenong.
Local artist Brett Ashby recently created Cube Square on a disused substation in Halpin Way as part of Transformed.
He worked with Dandenong Primary School students to determine the positive phrases that feature in the art.
Hundreds of pedestrians making their way from Dandenong railway station to central Dandenong pass the site each hour.
The Transformed project started in Greater Dandenong in 2006, and since then more than 30 art installations have transformed public spaces in central Dandenong.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Jim Memeti said it was a great opportunity for artists to leave their mark on the city.
“Not only do these temporary artworks bring colour and life to a space, but they also assist us in creating friendly pedestrian environments between key destinations,” he said.
