A Dandenong charity isn’t just walking the walk to support refugees and asylum seekers.
The Friends of Refugees team will run to raise cash to help people find a better future.
The runners are hoping to raise $50,000 for their participation in the Melbourne Marathon which will be held on Sunday 15 October.
The team is looking for more members as well as sponsors.
Participants can choose from 3 kilometre, 5.7km, 10km, 21.1km and 42.195km courses at www.melbournemarathon.com.au and should select Friends of Refugees as their team to lace up their runners alongside the charity crew.

Friends of Refugees was founded in early 2013 to fill service gaps for people seeking asylum and refugees.
It has become a central source of first-line relief for people seeking asylum in Melbourne’s South-East.
The group provides food, education support, job training, resettlement programs and a drop-in centre as a welcoming and safe environment for people in desperate need.
