A fake email scam has hit South-East residents.
Police are warning the community to be wary of a bogus email doing the rounds in the eastern and south-eastern suburbs.
Victims have contacted police after receiving what they believe is an email from the Australian Federal Police issuing a traffic infringement and requesting payment.
Police are aware of recent incidents in other areas where last-minute police intervention has stopped victims from losing large amounts of money.
