An abandoned house in central Dandenong went up in flames on Tuesday 13 February.
Police and arson chemists are working to determine the cause of the fire on Cleeland Street, which started about 4am and completely destroyed the property.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Tony Lavars said the exact cause might never be known.
“The house has not been lived in for some time but squatters have been seen there recently,” he said.
