New Year, new games

Students and parents brought in another New Year at Keysborough’s Dhamma Sarana Buddhist Temple.
It hosted the Sinhala New Year Festival on Sunday 25 March.
The temple, which runs a Sunday school, organised games for kids.
A lime and spoon race replaced the traditional egg and spoon balancing act, pin the eye on the elephant replaced pin the tail on the donkey, and there was a costume parade, three-legged race, musical chairs and tug of war.
Victorian Multicultural Commission representatives spoke and traditional food ceremonies took place.
