Rider refuses drug test

Police members from Highway Patrol intercepted a Honda XR250L motorcycle at the intersection of Princes Highway and Springvale Road in Springvale at 10pm on Friday February 1.

The rider, a 33 year old man from Ferntree Gully, was found to be riding with a suspended riders learners permit.

When requested by police to undergo a Preliminary Oral Fluid Test he refused.

The motorcycle was impounded for 30 days under legislation at a cost of $895 and the rider will receive a summons to attend court at a later date for charges of refusing an oral fluid test and riding while suspended.
