Drunk robbed blind

Three women have been arrested over an alleged violent robbery of a drunk man in central Dandenong.

The 25-year-old victim approached the women, asking them for a cigarette lighter on the corner of Scott and Lonsdale streets about 1.30am on Monday 5 August.

They punched him, causing him to fall.

While he was on the ground, his phone was stolen from his pocket and given to a male who then left the area.

The victim, who was too drunk to provide a formal statement, suffered a facial injury, police say.

Police arrested a 24-year-old from Dandenong, a 27-year-old from Dandenong and a 21-year-old from Hampton Park.

They were released pending summons.

Their male associate has not been found.
