A loud explosion was heard by residents after a stolen car was set alight in Nockolds Crescent, Noble Park.
The red 1989 Nissan Pulsar had been stolen from a home in Wheeler Court, Wheelers Hill overnight on 13 August.
The car was then abandoned and exploded about 1am on Monday 25 August.
A second vehicle was seen leaving the fire scene.
