Basketball fans are being encouraged to hustle down to Armada Dandenong Plaza next week to witness an exciting new version of the game.

In conjunction with Basketball Victoria, Dandenong Basketball and Afri-Aus Care, Armada Dandenong Plaza will be showcasing a pop up 3×3 basketball event live in Centre Court on Thursday 12 September from 5.00pm to 8.00pm.

The teams will consist of youths from the Black Rhinos basketball club program, and there will also be teams from Dandenong Plaza’s security team, retailers and Centre Management.

The 3×3 game is an exciting new format of basketball and will be introduced into the next Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

The goal of the pop up event is to highlight the excitement and hustle of the new 3×3 basketball format and the work Afri-Aus Care is doing within the local community working with African-Australian youth.

“The pop up 3×3 tournament will demonstrate the important role sports can play in providing a positive outlet to youths going through challenging times,” says Armada Dandenong Plaza centre manager, Monica Jenkins,
