Hit-run victim, 5, improves

A five-year-old boy has been seriously injured in a hit-run collision in Hope Street Springvale.

The boy’s condition had improved from initially life-threatening injuries after being struck by a dark-coloured sedan about 4pm on Thursday 26 September.

The driver did not stop at the scene, police say.

A 32-year-old Cranbourne West man later presented to Springvale police station.

He was released pending further enquiries.

Police are still investigating the incident.
