The state government is searching for a site for a food and garden waste recycling plant in Melbourne’s south-east.
Environment Minister Ryan Smith announced the plan last week at the launch of a $3.8 million organics recycling funding package at Veolia’s organics recycling plant in Dandenong South.
He said the plant would be similar to a proposed plant in Bulla and would be closed-off under a roof to suppress odours. It would also be subject to residential buffer zones.
