Issac's Dreyfus top law officer

Issacs federal MP Mark Dreyfus was sworn in as Australia’s new attorney-general last week. The federal representative for areas including Keysborough, Noble Park and Dandenong will also take on the emergency management portfolio. The lawyer said he was looking forward to his new cabinet role, while continuing “to strongly represent my constituents in the Isaacs electorate”. Mr Dreyfus was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1999, after beginning his law career in 1982. It is the first time an Issacs MP has been the nation’s top law officer. He replaces Nicola Roxon, who will not contest this year’s election.
