THE Drum Theatre’s first musical act last Thursday was a huge success, with a full house and praise from the community.
Popular 3AW radio personality and singer Denis Walter performed at the first of a series of morning music programs at the Dandenong theatre.
Director of Cultural Facilities at the Drum Theatre, Paul Streefkerk, said they had had a fantastic response from those who attended the post-gala event.
“Denis’s response to the venue was extremely positive,” Mr Streefkerk said.
“He said the intimacy and acoustics were outstanding.”
Guests were treated to a morning tea followed by a concert in which Mr Walter performed.
The program was launched in November last year, with upcoming concerts including performances from local schools, past Dandenong ARIA winners, theatre groups, three Chinese tenors and the Bunjil Aboriginal Dance Company.
