Proud of their place in the Hall of Fame

AN INDUCTION into the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame was fuelled by people-power according to Dandenong-based bus manufacturer Volgren.
Star reported last week that two Greater Dandenong companies were to be inducted into the Hall of Fame by Manufacturing and Export Minister Andre Haermeyer and would join just 48 other elite companies which had been inducted over the past five years.
Volgren and Noble Park touch-screen company NeoProducts were last Thursday evening inducted into the Hall of Fame for their contributions to the local economy.
Volgren managing director Peter Dale said just one word summed up his feelings – “proud”.
“Volgren’s success is the result of people working and growing together, whether they be customers, employees or suppliers,” he said.
“Induction into the Hall of Fame is recognition of the strong collaboration that exists between all the people that make up our business value chain.
“As this collaboration continues to strengthen, so too will the businesses of Volgren, its customers and suppliers.”
Mr Dale said Volgren’s contribution’s to the economy was one of the reasons behind its success.
“Volgren manufactures world class buses for private and government bus operators throughout Australia and in selected export markets,” he said.
“Throughout its 25 years of growth to become the leader of its industry in Australia, Volgren has displayed a sustained contribution to manufacturing excellence. Volgren’s manufacturing process is built on a solid foundation of skilled people, best practice product design, a robust supply chain and continuous improvement providing high quality products, low cycle times and on-time delivery to its customers,” he said.
