Funds for broken schools

TWO Greater Dandenong schools will collect more than $200,000 each for maintenance works announced by Dandenong MP John Pandazopoulos last week.
Dandenong North Primary School will receive $208,000 and Rosewood Downs Primary School $270,000, with schools such as Cleeland Secondary College receiving as little as $9,000.
A total of 19 schools will receive funding, said Mr Pandazopoulos, mirroring a similar announcement made by neighbouring Labor MP Tim Holding.
He said $1.2 million would be given to schools in the Dandenong electorate.
The funding follows an announcement by education services minister Jacinta Allan earlier this month that Victorian schools would receive $50 million for maintenance works the upcoming financial year as part of the 2006/07 State Budget.
