Move to stretch parking time

SPRINGVALE residents could soon have longer street parking time after councillors kick-started investigations into a series of improvements for the city.
Springvale Central Ward councillor Youhorn Chea put forward a notice of motion at Monday’s council meeting to request several improvements to parking and street lighting in central Springvale.
He gained support from councillors to have officers investigate line marking in Queens Avenue between St Johns Avenue and Springvale Road.
Officers will also report back to council on extending parking times in the Buckingham Avenue carpark and indented carparking on Springvale Road between Ash and Union groves.
Lighting around the Buckingham Avenue carpark will also be scrutinised.
